    What is Reiki

    Reiki is a gentle, holistic practice that brings balance to your mind, body, and spirit. It is non-invasive, non religious, and deeply relaxing.Reiki (pronounced Ray-Key) is administered to a fully clothed patient laying on a comfortable treatment table or sitting in a chair. 

    The practitioner will then gently place their hands in different positions on or just off the client's body from head to toe. This is not a massage, so there is no manipulation of muscles of any kind. Just light, still, and gentle touch. Most clients report a feeling of deep relaxation during their treatments and I can attest to that. I would report that a great number of my clients actually fall asleep! 

    They also tell me that they have had feelings of heat, coolness, tingling, some types of movement that they describe at times as "energy" movement, extreme relaxation, emotional release, and deeply spiritual experiences.

     Some of my clients have felt nothing at all, but simply enjoyed the quiet time to themselves. It's important to remember that when you don't have a "profound" experience with Reiki it doesn't mean that you didn't benefit or it didn't "work".  That is simply how your body responds to treatment.Some possible benefits of Reiki include:
